How to search, filter, register, track your season, climb the leaderboard, and list your event — grouped by who you are.
Use the search bar on the home page or the Atlas to search by race name, city or state. On any sector page or the master directory, the Control Center panel lets you filter by date range, state, distance (miles), maximum entry fee and field level (professional, amateur, or both).
Open Races Near You from the header or footer. The page detects your country and state and shows upcoming endurance events closest to your location. Refine by sport sector to narrow the list to the disciplines you care about.
Sectors group races by discipline: road running, trail running, ultra marathons (50K+), road and gravel cycling, mountain biking, adventure racing, triathlon, open water swimming, paddling, skiing and multisport (duathlon, aquabike, etc.). Pick a sector from the home page or the footer to see only those events.
Above the race grid, the sort bar offers four orders: Date (chronological), State (alphabetical by state), A–Z (alphabetical by race name) and Price (lowest entry fee first).
Race series group multiple events under a single circuit or brand — think XTERRA, Rock 'n' Roll, or a regional trail series. Any race in the directory can be tagged with a series. Click a series name on a race page to see every event in that circuit on one list, ordered with upcoming races first.
The Calendar shows every listed race on a month-by-month grid so you can see at a glance what's happening when. Jump to any month, then click a race to open its full dossier with location, distance and registration link. It's the fastest way to plan a season around date conflicts.
Each colored dot on the calendar grid represents a race happening that day, color-coded by sport sector. The legend below the grid shows which color maps to which discipline — running, trail, ultra, cycling, mountain biking, adventure, triathlon, swimming, paddling, skiing and multisport. Tap any date to see the full list of events starting that day.
The Kinetic Chronicle doesn't handle registration. Open any race dossier and tap the red 'Official registration' button — it takes you straight to the organizer's own sign-up page. Always confirm the date, price and details there before registering.
Each race carries one of three registration statuses: Open means the organizer is actively accepting entries — click the red 'Official registration' button to sign up. Closed means registration has ended or the field is full. Waitlist means the race is sold out but you can join the organizer's waitlist for a possible opening.
Once a race's end date has passed, it's automatically marked as a Past Event. The countdown sidebar switches to 'Event Completed' and, when results are available, a 'View Results' button appears linking to the official timing page. Past events remain in the directory for reference and review — they're flagged with a 'Past' badge in the race grid so you can tell at a glance which events have already happened.
My Season is your personal dashboard. Save races you're targeting with the bookmark button and they appear on your slate with a live countdown to each start. Your saved list is private to your account — only you can see it.
Athlete profiles are public pages where endurance athletes showcase their race history and upcoming schedule. Browse the Athletes directory to discover competitors, or build your own from My Profile — add your bio, disciplines, location, social links and a log of completed and planned races. Your profile is visible to anyone at /athletes/your-id.
Sign in, then open My Profile from the header. Fill in your name, bio, location, disciplines and optional links (website, Instagram, Strava). From there you can add races you've finished or are targeting — each entry becomes part of your public race history. You can edit or remove your profile and race log at any time.
The Athlete Leaderboard ranks endurance athletes by their fastest recorded finish times across every discipline. Filter by sport sector, distance, state or country to see who leads the field. The leaderboard pulls from completed races athletes log on their profiles — the faster your finish, the higher you rank.
Sign in, open My Profile, and add a completed race with your finish time. Any completed race entry with a valid finish time (formatted as H:MM:SS, MM:SS, or seconds) automatically appears on the leaderboard. The more races you log, the more ranking opportunities you have across different distances and disciplines.
The Finisher Wall on each race page shows athletes who've logged a completion of that event on their profile. It's social proof — a public record of who has crossed that finish line. Add the race to your profile with a 'completed' status and your name joins the wall for other athletes to see.
Open any race dossier and scroll to the Race Reports & Reviews section. Sign in, then leave a star rating (1–5), a title, a written report, your finish time (optional) and whether you'd recommend the race. Your review appears publicly on the race page alongside other athletes' feedback. You can delete your own reviews at any time.
Training Guides are original editorial articles on choosing, preparing for, and racing endurance events — from your first ultramarathon to pacing a trail 50K. Browse the Guides page from the header, then open any article for in-depth, discipline-specific advice written by our editorial team.
Listings are syndicated from official event sites, but race details change. Always verify the date, start time and price on the organizer's site before you travel or register. Race directors can send corrections through the Submit a Race form.
Use the Contact page for partnerships, press inquiries, data corrections, advertising questions or general feedback. Pick a topic from the dropdown, fill in your details and your message routes to the right inbox. Race directors with a specific listing correction should use the Submit a Race form instead.
Use the Submit a Race form. Include the event name, category, date, location, distance and official website. Our editors verify each submission against the official source before publishing it to the directory. Once approved, your race appears in the directory and you can manage it from the Director Portal.
The Director Portal is a private hub for race directors to manage every event they've submitted to The Kinetic Chronicle. Sign in and head to the Portal to see all your races in one place. Each race has its own dashboard showing listing views, registration clicks and volunteer sign-ups.
From your race dashboard in the Director Portal, open the Volunteer Manager. You can choose one of three modes: none (no volunteer section on your race page), external (link to your own sign-up form), or built-in (athletes sign up directly on your race page and you manage the roster in the dashboard). The built-in roster lets you approve or decline volunteers, send custom confirmation emails, and export the roster to CSV.
No. Registration always happens on the organizer's official portal. We're an independent directory — we map start lines, we don't sell entries.
Yes. The Submit a Race form supports events worldwide — choose any country from the dropdown and enter the region, province or prefecture in the state field. The directory covers endurance racing across every continent, not just the US.
